Jamie and Dahlia used MakeMyHomeGreen's advice and services when they installed energy saving measures for their refubishment project.
Jamie and Dahlia bought their new home in Crouch End and made plans to completely refurbish it and build an extension. Their goal was to find out which energy saving measures could be installed in their mid-terrace house for maximum effect.
The MakeMyHomeGreen services employed:
- Advanced Home Energy Report (AHER)
- Project Advice & Consultancy (PAC)
- Architect recommendation
- Supply and install floor insulation
- Supply and install of energy saving lights
Our Project Advice & Consultancy service, (PAC) provided specification of materials for main contractor & specialist installers.
MakeMyHomeGreen's unique Advanced Home Energy Report, (AHER) showed floor insulation was the most important measure resulting in a 22% saving on predicted heating costs. Our team took on the job of insulating the original suspended wooden floors with glass wool.
For the solid floor in the new extension, our specialist team used hempcrete. They took great care to ensure the extension floor was done to the highest standard.
Hempcrete is cheaper and is superior to regular concrete because it is has much better insulating properties and is breathable.
“Patrick was always happy to explain all our options and guide us through the complex job of insulating our home and reducing our energy bills. Our home is warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer thanks to the help and advice of Patrick and the MakeMyHomeGreen team.”
